As for my opinion on activities in Maun, to a tourist, the best of what Maun can offer is outside of Maun *hint hint begins with the letter O, check tour listings here, but to a local, the only place of interest is the river, which is why Maun had a decline in economy last year(2019) due to low levels of domestic tourism, as the local economy is driven by domestic tourism. But all the activities listed in the above link are what Maun can offer in terms of keeping you occupied or when you don't have enough deep pockets to head into the Okavango Delta or Moremi Game Reserve. Also don't forget Maun now has its own craft brewery, raise a glass to that, it's going to get colorful, stay tuned...
